LifeStraw’s Water Filter is on sale on Amazon for $12.74 (originally $14.99) this Black Friday.
LifeStraw is an award-winning bacteria and pathogen filter that is easy to transport and stays sealed until you need it.
We’ve used it in some pretty murky, muddy conditions to make water that was once undrinkable drinkable.
For travellers, it’s also a great (and simple) way to help communities in need.

Calling all adventurers: whether you’re a camper, doomsday preparer, or just someone who may one day encounter an emergency, the LifeStraw is an essential item to keep in your home, backpack, bug bag, car, or in all of the above.
The LifeStraw is currently on sale for $12.74 on Amazon for Black Friday, up $2 from its regular price of $14.99. You can also get the two-pack on sale for $22.44, bringing the price down to $11.22 each.
The LifeStraw is a personal (and portable) water filtration tube that has served some of the most remote and disenfranchised communities around the world. It was in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, in Rwanda in 2015, and is commonly found in the backpacks of many US military personnel. It’s also just a handy device to have when camping and hiking.
It’s not a purifier (which would also filter out any viruses in the water), but it’s as simple and reliable as a water filtration system. There are even more LifeStraw reviews on Amazon from Marines and other members of the military who say they not only use it themselves, but it’s now standard operating procedure to equip everyone’s backpack with one when they deploy.
It does take some work to get started and get the water flowing, but it will get the job done, especially in an emergency.
The LifeStraw has also received numerous awards, including those from Saatchi & Saatchi (2008) and TIME (2005), and has even been exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art.
So if you’re shopping for yourself or any number of family members, friends, or people in need, now is probably the time to do it.
